My Story
My ongoing research focuses on uncovering differences in mutant-specific KRAS biochemistry and interpreting alterations in cellular function. During my undergraduate program, I conducted a research project with a long-term goal of exploring therapeutic drug strategies to combat skeletal muscle atrophy, which results from a myriad of conditions, but most importantly, cancer treatments. My goal is to contribute to scientific breakthroughs and overcoming barriers to progress. Long term, I want to further both my research and clinical understanding of human physiology and contribute to advancing therapeutic drug strategies. I moonlight as a communications intern for the College of Graduate Studies, and in my “free time,” you will find me at the gym following the first rule of CrossFit: always talk about CrossFit.
I chose the Hobbs Lab because I wanted a mentor who is in the lab and who can mentor me at the bench. Dr. Hobbs has been open to my ideas and I have loved being able to expand my skills since joining in 2020. My day-to-day in the lab has a lot of variety which I love! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about the lab environment.
